For ProviderSuite, the operating system requirements fall into two categories based on which features a user needs to access:
1. Features accessed via the ProviderSuite web app only require a browser and can be used on computers running Microsoft Windows or Apple macOS.
- Generate Standard Reports
- View Advanced Reports Dashboard
- Search Patients
- Post Patient Payments
- Access TriZetto EDI Portal
- Manage Account Settings: Users, CPT Codes, Charge Masters, etc.
2. Features accessed via the ProviderSuite Billing, Receivables, or Connect applets require Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional or Windows 10. These would primarily be members of the billing team.
- Add/Edit Patient Demographics and Insurance Plans
- Verify Eligibility
- Add/Edit/Release Claims
- Post ERA/EOB Insurance Payments
- Manage Claim Follow-up Tasks
For customers with Apple computers in their environment, we've seen some give their billing staff Windows computers while users who just need to run reports and view data continue using their Apple computers. Alternatively, Windows can be installed on macOS using tools like Parallels Desktop or Apple Boot Camp. A third option is to use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app available for macOS to connect to a remote server running Windows and then access the ProviderSuite website and applets via that remote server.
