How to confirm your version of Microsoft .NET Framework

  1. Click in the search box on the Start bar
  2. Type "cmd" and press Enter
  3. A Command Prompt window will open
  4. Enter the following string at the > prompt and press Enter:   reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Net Framework Setup\NDP\v4" /s
  5. If .NET Framework version 4 or higher is installed on the computer, a list of .NET components will appear.
  6. Look for the Version at the end of one of the component sections to confirm the version installed.
  7. Enter "exit" at the at the > prompt and press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.
