Ho to Update the Anesthesia Conversion Factor

How Can I Update the Anesthesia Conversion Factor: 

  • SettingsTab> CPT Codes> Anesthesia Conversion Factor: > Enter the factor and then click the Update button to save

What does the Anesthesia Conversion Factor do?


  • The system takes the total of the base and time units and multiplies by the Anesthesia Conversion Factor. 

  • For example, Using ASA code 00142 , add a start time of 08:00 and an End Time of 10:30. The base units are 6 and the time units are 10 ( 4 per hour), the charge was $1200 (16 units x $75 conversion factor).

  • There may be some that are slightly different because we use a CPT/ASA combination on the Claims -General tab to pull the the CMS default units.
